To put it simply, Akiha is a big overgrown kid, despite being 14 years old. Although, his past is something that he would rather not talk about, and often uses the happy façade to confuse people on the real him. When he was growing up, he lived with his mother and father, who everybody thought were absolutely perfect for each other. However, as Akiha grew older, he began realizing a couple of things, even though he was only three at the time. His mother started leaving home more often to go to work, leaving Akiha and his dad alone. His mom started smoking more, started drinking more, and while she was still sweet to Akiha, she started growing more distant. Because of Akiha’s child-like innocence, he thought nothing of this.

What eventually became exposed by the time he was fivewas that his mother had been having an affair for the past two years. Akiha was still too little to really understand what was going on. Why were his parents fighting so much? One day, his mother told him that she “was only going to the grocery store and would be back in a little bit”. Believing her, Akiha waited home alone all day until his father came home late at night. Akiha’s mother never came back. What the boy didn’t know, however, was that his Dad had come home late from signing the divorce paper.

As Akiha grew older, he began missing his mother, and started wondering why she left him. His father had started to explain the reasons why they got divorced, but Akiha refused to believe that his mother would do such a thing. Investigating, Akiha had finally found out that she moved across town. When he was twelve, Akiha hopped the bus over to his mom’s house. Expecting a huge welcome when he knocked on the door, his mother slammed the door in the confused pre-teen’s face. A man asked ‘who was it?’. His mother replied ‘A strange boy was at the door.’

At first, Akiha thought his mother just didn’t recognize him. After all, he was really little when she last saw him! After staying at the door for a while, he realized that she didn’t care that her son was standing out there. From then on, Akiha had started developing suicidal tendencies, thinking that he could give his mom a shock. Because he didn’t want his father to worry, he began putting up a happy façade to let everyone know that he was all right. While the suicidal tendencies have disappeared, the mask hasn’t. Very few people see the real him.

Akiha discovered his ability to talk to pictures when he was really little, but didn’t realize the extent of it until he happened across of a certain picture when he was nine years old. This picture was Sophia, a ten-year-old girl from the Victorian Era, who had happened to talk to another person with the same power as Akiha in her lifetime. Akiha started confiding in her more, and he ended up infusing so much power that she was able to travel between pictures as long as Akiha had talked to them previously. The blonde always carries a small picture locket with him to keep her with him at all times.

As stated previously, Akiha is pretty much an overgrown child. One thing you’ll notice instantly is his boundless enthusiasm for anything and everything. The next thing you’ll notice is that he likes sugar…a lot. As in, he eats it for every meal of the day. He often makes his own homemade red bean paste, and eats it directly from the pot. With his fun-loving, optimistic personality, he doesn’t like to be sad, nor show anybody else his real feelings. Akiha has insecurity attacks sometimes, and can’t help but dwell on the fact that ‘he must be a screw up because even his mom didn’t want to love him’. This affects his relationships, as he is deathly afraid of trusting anyone lest they leave like his mother did. Despite these insecurities, Akiha does try to be the best friend he can be.

Hokuto Umeda: Akiha is the lucky one that gets to call this boy his ‘boyfriend’. Akiha has liked the boy almost ever since he met him, drawn somehow towards the aloof, but caring boy. Even though he knew that Umeda really didn’t like him and found him irritating, his pushing and persistence won. Because of Umeda’s insecurities, they are in a non-exclusive relationship, although it’s starting to cause some problems. Akiha’s greatest fear is that his lover will walk out on him just like his mom if he finds someone that is better looking, better at sex. Akiha is actually very possessive of the boy, although that’s a fact known only to the two of them. Still, they have a very deep and loving relationship, even if they have their problems.

Ginny Weasley: The two actually met under very strange circumstances. Due to an out of control spell, people were getting together with people they had hardly even met before, and Akiha just happened to be together with Ginny. Despite it all being an illusion, the two have actually managed to maintain a nice relationship. Recently, Akiha has started opening up to the girl, as he realized that he needed someone else to rely on. He is also plotting on getting Hikaru and Ginny to either become better friends or to get together.

Barunesusa Ruin: Akiha actually likes the spunky girl, despite the fact she often threatens to set his hair on fire. Through the circumstances with Kijima and his rocky relationship with Umeda, Akiha is using her shoulder to lean on when times are tough. She often offers to take Akiha out somewhere to unwind when she knows that he’s about to lose it. Akiha is surprised at how much he trusts her after knowing her for such little time, but is extremely glad he has a friend like her to lean on, even if he worries about her addictive habits.

Coia Uzumaki: Akiha really likes the older Aoi girl, and if he wasn’t so in love with his Senpai, he would most likely like her. They met when Coia accidentally dumped a water raven on him, and things continued on from there. Akiha doesn’t realize she likes him, and is often oblivious to her feelings, although he tries to not let his boyfriend corrupt her as much as the other girls.

Ryouichi Kijima: While he doesn’t want to say he hates Kijima, Akiha is far from being fond of the boy. At first, Akiha was jealous at how enamored Umeda was with Kijima, despite Akiha getting the worse vibes off of him and instantly spotting the older boy’s game. Knowing Umeda’s left over feelings for Kijima, Akiha often gets clingy and possessive when he’s around, unless they are in a crowd of people. Even so, when Kijima tried to split Akiha and Umeda apart, Akiha still found it in his heart to get a small present for Kijima while the Midori boy was in the hospital. Due to Cordelia’s spiked punch, Akiha ended up in a threesome with him and Umeda, but still refused to touch him even then. Hokuto and Akiha haven’t spoken with the boy in a while.
